FMW's Little Free Library

FMW's Little Free Library

They've been popping up all over town, so it's no surprise to see a charming little box that now appears in FreeMoreWest. The Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book" gathering place where neighbors can come to share literature and favorite stories.

Our neighborhood box was installed on September 20th thanks to Wesley Heights residents, Ms. Keihly Moore & Ms. Elizabeth Hamilton.

The Little Free Library started in 2009 by founder Todd Bol of Hudson, Wisconsin in his very own front yard. A tribute to his mother who loved reading, Todd's red schoolhouse served as a book exchange for friends and neighbors. The nonprofit corporation now estimates that over 15,000 Little Free Libraries have been built in neighborhoods across the country with thousands more planned.

Next time you're taking a walk on the greenway (or when the family is nearby for Movies on the Greenway), stop by our box at Litaker and Grandin and pick a book that appeals to you. Return the book at your own leisure, but be sure to leave one of your own behind so others can have the opportunity to enjoy.
